The Rotary Club of New Manila Heights continues to bring meaningful service to island communities through its Library sa Isla project in Caringo Island, Mercedes, Camarines Norte.
The project gathers new and gently used books for young islanders, providing children with greater access to stories, information, and reading materials. An initial batch of donated books was delivered to Caringo Island on September 30, 2026, facilitated by Municipal Councilor Jude Hernandez, one of the advisers of the Rotary Community Corps of Mercedes.
Library sa Isla is an ongoing project with a bigger vision: to establish a permanent physical library hub called “Tambayan ng mga Batang Isla.” The envisioned space will serve as a library, gathering place, and training center where young islanders can participate in skills-building, leadership, and community activities.
The Rotary Club of New Manila Heights invites individuals, schools, businesses, civic organizations, and other partners to donate new or gently used books suitable for children and young readers. Every book donated will help expand the collection and bring the dream of a permanent island library closer to reality.
Library sa Isla begins with books, but its vision goes beyond reading—to create a lasting space where island children can gather, grow, develop their skills, and discover greater possibilities.
DONATE A BOOK. BUILD A LIBRARY. EMPOWER AN ISLAND CHILD.
